What is a bra size?

Your bra size is determined by the combination of your band and cup sizes. The size of the band on a bra (36, 38, 40, etc.) indicates your ribcage size. The cup size (C, D, E, etc.) indicates a smaller or larger bust.

Generally, you have to increase the cup size if you downsize your band. Similarly, you have to decrease the cup size if you need to increase the band size.

What does the number on a bra size mean?

The band size, which is the measurement of your ribcage directly below your breasts, is indicated by the number on a bra size chart. This dimension establishes how snugly the bra supports your breasts and fits around your body.

Without causing discomfort or riding up in the back, the band should fit you well. You might need to go down a size and change the band size if it does ride up.

It is crucial to remember that cup sizes rise in tandem with band sizes. For example, a 36C has a larger bra cup size than a 34C, but their bra cup size are equal.

What is cup size?

The cup sizes in a bra size are indicated by the letters. These alphabetical cup sizes change depending on the difference between your overbust size and underbust measurement:

A 10 - 12cm difference corresponds to an A cup.
A 13 - 14cm difference corresponds to a B cup.
A 15 - 17cm difference corresponds to a C cup.
A 18 - 19cm difference corresponds to a D cup.
A 20 - 22cm difference corresponds to a E cup or DD cup.
A 23 - 24cm difference corresponds to an F cup of DDD cup.

Your entire bra size is indicated by the combination of your cup and band sizes (e.g., 34B).

What is G cup size?

In general, the size of a G cup bra usually denotes a difference of 24-26 cm between the overbust and underbust measurements. However, it's important to note that Triumph's product line does not include G-cup size bras. If you need larger bras under G cup size, you can view our plus size bra collection.

What does 36/80 bra size mean?

The "36/80" in a bra size refers to the band size, with "36" being the measurement in inches (commonly used in the U.S. and UK) and "80" being the equivalent measurement in centimeters (used in European sizing). This indicates that the bra is designed to fit someone with a ribcage measurement around 36 inches or 80 centimeters.

To determine your cup size, you'll need to measure the fullest part of your bust and subtract the band size from this measurement. The difference between these two measurements will help you find your cup size.

For example, if your bust measurement is 39 inches and your band size is 36 inches, the difference is 3 inches, which would typically correspond to a C cup, making your bra size 36C or 80C.
